Standard configuration K98k manufactured by Mauser Oberndorf in 1944. The receiver is stamped with a partially discernible "(Eagle)/ 135" waffenamt above Mauser's clandestine "byf" manufacturer code, as well as the 2-digit year of manufacture "44". Right side of buttstock bears a Mauser "(Eagle)/ WaA135" waffenamt. Metal components are blued, while the stock and handguard are comprised of laminated wood. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, bolt, bolt sleeve, cocking piece, stock, and handguard, while the remaining components are unserialized. The rifle is accompanied by a "44asw" marked bayonet with a non-matching "41asw" marked scabbard. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some scattered spots of mild wear and thinning overall that show through to a gray patina. The buttplate exhibits some areas of pitting and discoloration but is otherwise serviceable. Very bright bore, exhibiting some spots of very light pitting and retaining well-defined rifling throughout. The stock exhibits scattered marks and dings from handling and storage but is otherwise fine. The bayonet is very good, with scabbard handling marks to the grip.
