A composite pistol made up to resemble a sea service pistol. Barrel has private proofs offset breech. Single brass ferrule for ramrod channel, no ramrod. Flat lock with bevelled edges signed "REA" in arc at rear, crowned GR cypher, double line engraving. Reconverted lock with bridled pan cover. Contemporary gooseneck cock. Brass furniture and brass screws. Trigger guard engraved "X-L-D / D/ 12". CONDITION: Barrel has some light pitting along woodline, scattered darkness throughout that has softened proofs. Stock of contemporary wood has handling and usage marks throughout, including a repair on left side of tang that runs down to sideplate. Mechanically fine, bore has some oxidation throughout.
