Three 9" x 7" promotional sepia images of Buck Jones hand signed by the photographer Albert Witzel. Marked on face Witzel / Hollywood.
These framed photos were given by his mother, Mary Gebhard, to a friend.
Inscription on the reverse of the photograph.
Framed to 27" x 13"
Written on back of frame: "Charles Fred Gebhard (Buck Jones-MovieStar) From Mrs. Mary Gebhard - 1937 or '38". A very interesting and important inscription, as few used Buck's real name.
Buck Jones was born Charles Frederick Gebhart in 1891.
Witzel Studios was founded in Los Angeles by photographer Albert Walter Witzel (1879–1929) in 1909 and within a few years had become one of the city’s foremost portrait studios.
