C. late 1800s. Beautifully carved Bavarian style wall clock with stag head top over crossed percussion rifles, rabbit and pheasant side figures with hunting horn surrounding the clock face. The detail in the carving is considerably better than most examples and twice the size of most clocks of the style, 57" tall by 28" wide. Condition: All the parts are present, including the striking mechanism and the full carved stag antlers. No signs of repair, light scuffing to the edges of several carvings, but nothing to distract from this impressive Black Forest clock.
