Classic black, fully floral carved Edward H. Bohlin, Hollywood, Calif "Dick Dickson, Jr" parade saddle with 100% matching Bohlinmade Bridle, Bit and Martingale. The Dickson Jr was one of the most popular parade styles built by the illustrious saddlemanker to the stars and a favorite of the Rancheros Visitadores on their annual Santa Barbara trail rides. It is built on a Miles City tree with 13" swells, 15" seat. and 3 - 1/2" fully silvered cantle with twisted rope edge, solid silver gullet and swells. The saddle is lavishly adorned with heavy gauge sterling diamond and half diamond conchos, silver spots and features intricately engraved corner plates on the skirts, fenders and 21" long monkey nose Tapaderos. The fully matching accessories continue the diamond theme with the bridle attached to a Bohlinmade and marked half breed bit with split reins, silver ferrules and diamond shaped silver slider and romal. Saddle includes a black and white wool Corona. In fine rideable condition, circa 1940s. This sterling silver saddle set was made for noted Palm Springs resident and Naval Commander "Earl E. Gibbs" and has his name in the seat plate and cantle plate along with E.E.G. in gold.
