a) Mexican Straw folk art of General Ignacio Sequin Zaragosa defeating the French troops at the Battle of Puebla May 5, 1862.
Attributed to the great G. Olay, Mexico, circa 1930's. Gabriel Olay was the master of popotillo, or straw-art. The scene is created using thousands of minute pieces of dyed straw, or popote in Spanish. 11 - 1/2"" x 15 - 1/2"" (with bottom banner) Framed to 19" x 23".
b) Peaceful scene of a Charro and his mules. 6" x 7 - 3/4" (by sight) Framed to 8 - 3/4"" x 10 - 3/4".
