Standard configuration Walther Model PP manufactured by Walther for commercial sales. The left side of the slide bears the Walther banner logo followed by markings stipulating Walther's manufacturer information and the model and caliber designations. Right side of slide, chamber, and barrel bear a "(Crown) / N" commercial nitro proof. Frame and slide are unusual in that the serial number "979411" has been partially over-stamped, with the "4" having originally been a "1", possibly indicating a factory error. Metal components are blued, while the frame is mounted with contemporary 2-piece checkered wood grips. Magazine is of post-War Walther production. Pistol is accompanied by a later production black plastic case containing a set of Walther factory black checkered plastic grips and a Manurhin magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning overall that show through to a pleasant brown patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting some mild pitting and strong rifling throughout. Grips are very good. Contemporary case exhibits some losses and warping.
