Lacy is recorded in London, circa 1810-1830. This is an exceptionally long horseman's pistol with cast brass furniture and decorations in the style popular with trade in the Mediterranean. Barrel in 3 sections, octagonal to round to round, with Tower private proofs and stars at the breech, lock with stars and "J.G. LACY" in center, with swan neck cock, bridled waterproof pan with an integral rear fence, and roller bearing frizzen. English stalking safety. Cast brass comments depict florals and patriotic stands of arms throughout. Stock is accented with beaded edges and an elaborate floral finial at tang. CONDITION: Overall good. Metal is essentially dove grey with some areas of oil stating and even pockmarks throughout. Brass furniture with distinct features due to casting process. Wood is very good with strong beading, and some handling marks and pressure dings. Mechanically fine, bore is very good.
