Approximately 650 transitional models were produced circa 1869 in the 27200 to 28800 serial number range, which combine first and second issue features. This example, serial number 27485, is correctly fit with an octagon barrel with German silver half moon front sight and 2-line address, 5-shot unfluted cylinder, second issue style bird's head frame with spur trigger, and 2-piece rosewood grips. High polish blued finish throughout with nitre blued hammer. CONDITION: Very fine retaining the majority of the factory blued finish, with some areas drifting to a brown patina. Hammer spur has been repaired, the hammer retaining nearly all of its reapplied nitre blue finish. Grips are fine with some losses to varnish and scattered impressions. Especially fine, bright bore displaying crisp rifling. Mechanically fine.
