Per the included factory letter, this gun was shipped to Wolf & Klar, Fort Worth, Texas, on September 3rd, 1926, in a shipment of 10. Factory configuration was a .45 Colt, 4 - 3/4" barrel, nickel finish, and rubber grips. Current configuration is a 7 - 1/2" .44 Special, blued and case hardened fish, with ivory grips. Barrel marked "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .44 SPECIAL" on left side, "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". Frame with 2 line patent information and rampant Colt. Trigger guard with VP proof and "3" subinspector. CONDITION: Metal retains the vast majority of the reapplied finishes with some silvering high edges and muzzle. Case colors largely silver and faded. Polish marks on side of hammer. Legends crisp. Mechanically fine with 4 Colt clicks, bore is good with moderate frosting. Grips are solid and free of cracks of chips.
