Third model rifle manufactured in 1889. Classic blued 24" octagon barrel chambered in .44-40 with blade front sight, buckhorn rear, 2-line address stamp, and full-length magazine tube. Blued receiver with elevator engraved ".44 CAL". Standard 2-piece plain grain walnut stock with blued nose cap and tool trap rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Fine. Significant portions of factory blue are retained throughout, the balance beginning to drift to brown patina with some cleaned pinprick oxidation. Traces of faded case colors present on hammer. The elevator exhibits a rich, mellow patina. Stocks are very good, retaining the majority of their original varnish with some minor impressions. Bright bore displaying sharp, well-defined rifling. Fine mechanics.
