Type 99 short rifle manufactured at the Nagoya arsenal. Chrysanthemum has been scrubbed. Left side of the receiver bears what appears to be a Series 6 marking followed by the serial number and Nagoya arsenal insignia. Metal components are blued, while the stock and handguard consist of wood. All numbers match and include the receiver, bolt, extractor, safety knob, firing pin, and bayonet lug. The rifle is accompanied by a later war production National Denki bayonet with scabbard. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of concentrated wear that show through to gray and brown patina. Mirror bore with strong rifling throughout. The stock exhibits some scattered marks from handling and storage but is otherwise fine.
