Standard Winchester Model 65 as made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1940. 1 of approximately 5700 made. Blued desirable 24" round Winchester Proof Steel barrel with hooded ramp front sight and plugged rear dovetail in .218 Bee. Blued solid frame receiver with Lyman Bolt peep sight with a blued two-thirds magazine. Plain walnut pistol grip stock with Winchester checkered steel buttplate. Matching plain walnut forearm. CONDITION: 95% original blue with light edge and operation wear. The left side of the receiver has 3 extra unexplained holes plugged with screws. 95% lightly cleaned varnish with some light scratches and handling marks. Good bright bore and crisp mechanics.
