Manufactured in 1901. Standard 30" barrel chambered in .30-40 with blade front sight and 1901 ladder rear sight. The full-length finger groove walnut stock is marked with a crisp "JSA / 1901" cartouche and encircled "P" proof. Mounts include 2 blued bands with sling swivels, trigger guard, and tool trap butt plate. Rifle is accompanied by an 1898 dated bayonet with scabbard and a blue 100 round M1894 cloth cartridge belt. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains significant amounts of arsenal blued with other metal components exhibiting a gray patina with traces of finish. Stock appears lightly cleaned with scattered impression and a small split behind the magazine. Strong, frosted bore. Mechanically fine. Bayonet is very fine. Belt is faded, remaining serviceable.
