Manufactured in 1892 shortly after production began, with an early "229" serial number. Blued finish with a 24" round barrel chambered in .38-40, full-length magazine tube, 2-line address, blade front sight, buckhorn rear, 2-piece plain walnut stock, and crescent rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. Traces of factory blue are retained, especially in the protected areas, with the balance turning to a gray-brown patina. Traces of case colors are also present on the hammer and lever. Stocks are fine, with a dark appearance and some scattered marks. Strong, bright bore with well-defined rifling and some light frosting. Fine mechanics. A good, very early production '92.
