Manufactured from 1863 to 1875. Polish blued finish throughout with an 8" octagon barrel marked on the top flat with 3-line "NEW MODEL" address, blade front sight, and frame notch rear. Grips are 2-piece smooth walnut, the left bears a script "GR" martial inspector cartouche. Additional subinspector marks present throughout. CONDITION: Near excellent. Bountiful amounts of lustrous factory blue are retained with some high edge wear and spots of toning, 2 larger spots present on the cylinder. Grip straps also fading to a gray patina. Flashes of case color present on hammer, with portions of nitre blue also displayed on the trigger. Trigger guard displays an untouched mellow patina. Grips are very fine with a sharp cartouche and only very light wear. Excellent bright bore with well-defined rifling. Fine mechanics. Matching numbers observed on frame, barrel, and on the inside of each grip in pencil.
