Lot consists of: (A) Quarter plate, full length studio image of an 1860s fireman. He is wearing a double breasted buttoned shirt with souvenir ribbons, leather helmet, and belt with a number "1" on the buckle. Under magnification, his helmet appears to read "SL?C", possibly a house company in St. Louis. Housed in a fun leatherette case that has split but both sides are present. (B) 1860s hinged thermoplastic empty case that features a fireman in raised relief. CONDITION: Case is split on (A), but image is excellent. Empty case is excellent.
LOT OF 2: CIVIL WAR ERA TINTYPE OF A FIREFIGHTER AND THERMOPLASTIC CASE WITH FIREMAN DESIGN.
