Lot consists of: (A) US 1874 Army officer die struck and gilded belt plate on a beautiful red leather belt with 4 rows of gold embroidery, most likely worn by a staff officer. The belt was made by Armstrong Uniform Co., Chicago, Illinois, and is marked as such behind the plate. The plate exhibits a fair patina, red leather belt is stiff in areas and exhibits scattered scuffs and blemishes. CONDITION: Good. (B) US 1874 Army officer belt and belt plate that also features a sword hanger. Plate is marked "HORSTMANN / PHILA" on reverse. Belt is marked "THE / HENDERSON / AMES CO. / KALAMAZOO, MICH.". The plate exhibits a pleasant patina and belt remains supple and pliable, with scattered light blemishes. CONDITION: Very good. (C) Militia belt with shoulder strap and 2-piece plate. For similar examples see O'Donnell and Campbell plates 320 & 365. Belt and plate are both unmarked. Plate with pleasing patina. Belt remains supple with rough surface and decent cracking. CONDITION: Fair. (D) Indian Wars 1874 belt with enlisted New York belt plate. Belt is marked "1st Co. S.O. N.Y. 60". Plate exhibits a dark patina and belt remains supple with scattered cracking. CONDITION: Good.
