Single Action Army revolver chambered in .38-40 W.C.F. manufactured by Colt in 1909. The left side of the barrel is stamped "38 W.C.F.", with Colt's single line address across the top. The left side of the frame is stamped with Colt's 2-line patent dates followed by the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Metal components are blued, while the frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered hard rubber grips. 7 - 1/2" barrel features a period-modified front sight, which has been ground down to a blade pattern sight. Butt has been period fitted with a lanyard loop. Matching numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, and butt. Grips match via a handwritten inscription on the interior of the panels. CONDITION: Barrel and cylinder retain fair to good amounts of their blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning overall that show through to pleasant brown patina, with scattered areas of pitting and mild surface oxidation present overall. Frame and grip straps retain traces of their original factory blue finish, showing wear overall, with the balance exhibiting a mottled dark gray patina, and with some scattered spots of pitting and mild surface oxidation. Bore is bright, exhibiting pitting and fair rifling throughout. Cylinder pin exhibits marring. Grips exhibit smoothing and scattered marks from storage and handling, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable.
