Manufactured in 1862 during the Civil War. Blued 5" octagon barrel with 1-line New York address and brass pin front sight. 6-shot percussion cylinder rollmarked with stagecoach holdup scene. Grips are 1-piece plain walnut. Housed a period partitioned case with flask, a .36 caliber 2-cavity mold, and modern cap tin. CONDITION: Very good. Traces of original finish present, the balance drifting to a rich plum brown patina. Brass has a bright, mellowing appearance. Grips are good showing some heavy wear on the base. Strong bore with some moderate black powder pitting. Good mechanics. Matching numbers observed throughout. Case has been relined, retaining the majority of its original varnish with some wear and impressions from period use.
