Octagonal barrel, bead front sight dovetailed into barrel with V notch rear sight integral to frame. Top of barrel is engraved with "J. LEES & SON PERTH". Frame with sparse floral engraving and patent number on right side. 5-shot cylinder with roped decoration at the fore and sparse line engraving at rear with appropriate minuscule British proofs over each chamber. Small grip is checkered around the grip and finished by an iron cap. Housed in a wooden case with blue lining and a James Lees & Son trade label in lid with accessories comprising a small paper container of percussion caps, an oil bottle, cleaning rod, nipple wrench, bullet mold, cast lead bullets, and powder flask. CONDITION: Metal is largely a smooth chocolate patina, with flashes of dove grey throughout and approximately 15-20% bluing, mostly on the barrel. Normal handling marks throughout. Mechanically fine, bore has strong rifling and moderate patina throughout. Grip is excellent with some light handling marks, possibly refreshed. Accessories are good with period wear. An Adams patent with an unusual destination.
