A nice example of a numbered Civil War Campaign Medal. The rim of the medal is marked "916" on the rim. A note enclosed within the box states "William Edgely, born in Manchester, England Sept. 16, 1825 died at a soldier's home in Roseberg, Oregon on May 20, 1917. His Civil War record shows he enlisted August 20, 1861. he was a farrier in "F" Troop, 1st Indiana Cavalry. Discharged September 12, 1864." A very nice and researchable medal contained in a 5-11-29 dated box. CONDITION: Medal and ribbon exhibit a dull patina. Box exhibits scattered wear with lid still attached and labels in place. Very good overall.
