Circa 1970. 26 - 1/2" barrels with vent rib equipped with white plastic fore and mid beads and anti-glare matting. Browning round nose sliding 3-piece forearm with panels of point pattern checkering. Barrels are marked "**" and "**-" for Modified and Improved Cylinder, but measure closer to Cylinder and Improved Cylinder. Normal roll marks on barrels with 3" chambers and Belgian manufacturer information. Browning boxlock action with typical Pigeon grade engraving of scroll throughout and vignettes of pigeons, with relief carved fence with acanthus. Single selective inertia-driven trigger with non-automatic safety. Flat knob short tang stock made of a somewhat smokey fiddleback walnut, cast slightly off for a right-handed shooter, with an aftermarket grip cap with a golden "P" initial, checkered about the wrist in point pattern, and a vacant heraldric shield on toeline. Measures 14 - 1/8" from trigger to rear of pad, indicating stock was cut. Stock tests positive for salt. Ejectors are strong and in time. CONDITION: Barrels retain virtually all of their bluing with some light marks from handling and the field, some slightly silvering, with typical silver at the area where the forearm reciprocates along the bottom barrel. Some metal shows salt oxidation, particularly at edges and screws, with some matte areas visible on the receiver. Wood has good grain and some handling marks, particularly near shield; wood refinished when cut for pad. Pad is not fit quite right and is flush at toe but proud at heel. Mechanically fine, bores are good with some mild frosting towards chambers.
