Manufactured 1918 per serial number. U notch flat top rear sight, half moon front sight, right side of slide with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY" rollmark,left side with 2 line 2 block patent and address information with intercepting pony. "H" stamped at top of the firing pin retaining plate channel. Barrel marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on top of hood. Frame with rebuild marks for Rock Island Arsenal and Frank Krack inspections, US property mark, and serial number. Small parts comprise serrated slide release, thick tab safety, narrow checkered hammer, short grip safety, long milled trigger, checkered magazine release, and smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Full blue magazine with "S" on lip and "C-S" on underside of lip, indicating Scoville manufactured under Colt contract. Shiny black micarta grips. Whole gun has been engraved in approximate A class coverage of well executed floral scroll with a punch dot ground. Engraving is well executed but is unsigned. CONDITION: Overall very good, retaining virtually all of the reapplied bluing done at time of engraving. Some minor handling marks throughout, and some rougher areas of finish to recessed areas; spots of oxidation to safety retaining pin housing. Some pins replaced. Mechanically fine, bore has strong rifling with some mild frosting throughout.
