Kentucky full stock trade style rifle made by Henry Leman circa 1840 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Gun has 37 -1/4" octagon .38 caliber rifled barrel with silver blade front sight and notch rear sight and barrel stamped "H.E. LEMAN/LANCASTER, PA-WARRANTED". Gun has G. Moyer marked percussion lock with double set trigger control. Full length curly maple stock with brass hardware, including an oval patchbox. Stock is decorated with silver moon inlay on the cheek. Comes with a hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Metal has turned a plum patina with areas of light pitting. Hardware has been cleaned and polished. The wood has been cleaned, with areas of burnout around the lock. Visible crack at wrist with dowel rod repair, refinished. Dark pitted bore with visible rifling with good mechanics.
