Kentucky contemporary full stock rifle made by C. Elliot circa the last 50 years. Gun has 40 - 1/2" octagon .50 caliber rifled barrel with blade front sight, notch rear sight, and signed "C. Elliot". Gun has an unmarked flint lock with single trigger control. Full length curly maple stock with brass hardware, including an engraved daisy finial four-piece patchbox. Hardware could be from an earlier period rifle of Lancaster origin. Stock is decorated with incise carving behind the cheek and along the forestock. Comes with a hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Metal has turned a plum patina with areas of light pitting. Hardware has been cleaned and polished. Wood has had a coat of wax with light usage dings. Dark pitted bore with visible rifling with good mechanics.
