Manufactured circa 1856. Fit with a polished blue 5" octagon barrel with 2-line New York address and brass front sight. 5-shot .31 caliber percussion cylinder roll marked with a strong stagecoach holdup scene. Silver plated grip straps with smooth 1-piece walnut grips. Housed in a period partitioned hardwood case with an eagle flask, brass 2-cavity Colt's Patent mold, and Eley cap tin. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel retains significant portions of original blue drifting to gray patina. Frame and barrel display a silvery patina. Grip straps retain the vast majority of their plating, showing through to mellow brass in some areas. Grips are especially fine, with a few scattered marks and a small chip at the right heel. Strong bore with some abrasions near the breech. Fine mechanics. Matching numbers observed throughout, the wedge is a replacement. Case is fine with some scattered marks. Liner has faded but remains intact. Accessories are good.
