Circa 1857. Features include a 4" octagon barrel, 2-line New York address, pin front sight, 5-shot percussion cylinder, silver plated grip straps, and smooth 1-piece walnut grips. Housed in a period partitioned hardwood case with an eagle flask, brass 2 cavity Colt's patent mold, and English cap tin. CONDITION: Very good. Steel has been cleaned to an even gray patina. Grip straps are bright, and retain traces of original plating. Grips are very good, retaining significant amounts of original finish, especially on the left side, with scattered marks. Strong bore with some abrasion from period black powder use. Fine mechanics. Full or partial matching serial numbers observed throughout. Case is fine with some expected scratching and wear to the lining.
