A very nice set of letters from Thomas Edison, written late in his life in 1927, 4 years before his death. Both letters are typed and addressed to Dr. Burton J. Hendrick. In the first letter, Edison describes his recollections and impressions of Andrew Carnegie, as it appears Dr. Hendrick was writing to inquire about Edison and Carnegie's business endeavors, to which Edison writes that while he was acquainted with the industrialist, they never corresponded at length. The letter is signed by Edison in steel-tip fountain pen and is accompanied by a James Spence Authentication full letter of authenticity. The second letter was typed and signed by Edison's assistant, also letting down Dr. Hendrick, stating that Edison did not keep any correspondence between him and Carnegie. The letters present quite well within their frame, and each exhibit 1 significant fold line as well as paperclip impressions at the top left corners. There are scattered wrinkles and light blemishes but they do not detract from the display. A nice set from a prominent American inventor. CONDITION: Good.
