Manufactured in 1863. Polish blued 5" octagon barrel with 1-line New York address and brass pin front sight. 6-shot .31 caliber percussion cylinder roll stamped with sharp stagecoach holdup scene. Grip straps are silver plated with smooth walnut 1-piece grips. Housed in a period partitioned hardwood case with a Sykes flask, 2 cavity Colt's patent mold, and a pair of Goldmark's cap tins. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel retains strong traces of factory-blued finish thinning to brown patina. Case colors are strong but starting to fade to patina in some areas. Grip straps are mellow, retaining portions of original silver plating. Fine grips with scattered marks. Strong bore with black powder pitting. Mechanically fine. Matching serial numbers observed throughout. Case is very good, showing scattered marks from storage and use, with a silver of loss on the rear of the lid. The lining has also largely faded to brown. Accessories are good. A nice cased Civil War period Colt.
