Manufactured in 1862. Standard configuration with 8" round barrel marked with New York address, German silver blade front sight, rebated 6-shot .44 caliber percussion cylinder, 4-screw frame cut for shoulder stock with matching steel backstrap, and plain 1-piece walnut grips faintly stamped on the left with an illegible martial inspector cartouche. Housed in a French-fit leatherette display case with flask, Colt's Patent dual cavity mold, a packet of American Powder Co. combustible envelope cartridges, and a Hick's cap tin. CONDITION: Good. Iron components display an even, worn gray patina. Cylinder markings are very faint. Brass is bright, beginning to mellow. Grips are good with a few impressions, appearing cleaned at some point. Strong bore with some light black powder pitting. Mechanically fine. Matching full or partial serial numbers observed throughout, the cylinder arbor appears replaced. Accessories rate good to very good.
