Manufactured from 1865 to 1873. Brilliantly nickel finished with a 3 - 1/2" octagon barrel bearing 3-line "NEW MODEL" address and half-moon front sight. Removable 5-shot cylinder with nitre blued factory cartridge conversion to .38 rimfire. Grips are 2-piece smooth walnut. The name "Lilas Spenceer" is written on the inside of the left grip. CONDITION: Very fine, the vast majority of the lustrous original nickel plating is retained with some spots of flaking and loss. Cylinder appears renickeled. Trigger and conversion disk retain significant portions of original toned nitre blue, screws and hammer appearing brilliant as touched up. Grips are fine, showing some impressions, especially on the base. Strong bore with abrasions from period black powder use. Fine mechanics. Matching numbers observed on the frame, underside of barrel, and in pencil inside of the grips.
