3rd model rifle manufactured in 1884. Standard blued 24" octagon barrel chambered in .38-40 with a full-length magazine tube, 2-line address, period replacement blade front sight, and semi-buckhorn rear. Tang mounted with a flip-up aperture sight. Fit with 2-piece plain walnut stocks with steel nose cap and tool trap butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. Metal retains traces of original finish in protected areas, with the balance fading to a brown patina. Stocks show age with scattered marks and a split present on the forend. Good bore showing well-defined rifling with some black powder oxidation. Fine mechanics.
