German World War II "Organization Todt" officer's M43 cap marked "Carl Halfar, Berlin und Griesen", "Org Todt, Wiesbaden", with a size stamp of "58". Olive tricot wool body exhibits only light wear and staining. Pull down flap is secured by 2 buttons which are original to the cap, and the 2 tape pulldowns are made from the same fabric as the lining. The olive Bevo trapezoid is correctly machine sewn to the cap in the "zip and flip" manner, in which the top is sewn on, and then flipped down for the remaining edges to be straight-line stitched. The officer piping is made from white cellion, with moderate staining. Olive cotton lining is intact with no visible damage, with moderate staining (from the sweatband and/or being worn). Approximately 30% of the dry full leather dark brown sweatband remains, with heavy damage. The cardboard bill liner is warped (possibly from being wet at some time), and is covered by olive wool on both sides. Cap brought home by PFC Robert Fuller, 101st Airborne Division, 327th Glider Infantry Regiment. CONDITION: Overall very good. WEZ
