German World War II Waffen SS Infantry EM/ NCO "crusher" visor cap made in a coarse Feldgrau wool with moderate soiling, nap wear, and moth tracking (mostly on the top/ crown above and below the piping). The black wool center band has light wear and staining, with a 1/4" spot of damage on the right side above the chinstrap. The white piping on the top and above/ below the center band exhibit light staining and wear. Both the SS eagle and "Totenkopf" are original to the cap, and the eagle is loose because one of the 2 prongs is missing. Black leather enlisted chinstrap is untouched, undisturbed, and tightly attached, with light wear, dust, and patina to the black painted metal fittings. The "crusher style" black vulkanfibre visor has light wear and damage with the front edge exhibiting light peeling to reveal the brown base, which is present on the underside (and is not crosshatched). The interior is fully lined in a light gray rayon with heavy staining, and with no visible damage. The celluloid sweat shield is missing, the black stitching is present and undamaged. The medium brown leather sweatband is intact with light wear, no visible damage other than creases, is stiff, and does not appear to have ever been unfolded. Cap was brought home by PFC Robert Fuller, 101st Airborne Division, 327th Glider Infantry Regiment. A rare opportunity to own a veteran bring back example of an exceptional crusher cap. CONDITION: Overall very good. WEZ
