An attractive Revolutionary War discharge signed by George Washington as Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. The certificate discharges Isaac Doty, Gunner of the Second New York Artillery Regiment. Dated June 9, 1783, the discharge states Doty served "from the 20th Febry 79 until the present period". Tastefully matted and framed with an engraving of Colonel Rall's surrender at the Battle of Trenton. The entire piece measures approximately 20 - 1/4" by 13 - 3/4". The back of the frame features a certificate of authenticity from Charles Hamilton Autographs, stamped with a wax seal. The document also comes with a James Spence Authentication Full Letter of Authenticity. This discharge was once part of the renowned Dr. John K. Lattimer Collection. The discharge exhibits scattered water stains with smudging of some writing, however, Washington's signature remains clear and legible. CONDITION: Good.
