3rd model rifle shipped from the warehouse September 21, 1883. Fit with a blued 30" octagon barrel chambered in .44-40 with 2-line Winchester address, full-length magazine tube, blade front sight, and v-notch rear. Standard blued receiver with factory single set trigger. 2-piece plain walnut stock with steel nose cap and crescent rifle butt plate. Factory research confirms options. CONDITION: Very good overall. Metal finish has thinned to a pleasing, even plum-brown patina with traces of original blue and a few spots of cleaned, older oxidation. A small dent present in the magazine tube towards the muzzle. Stocks have a rich age-darkened appearance, appearing lightly refreshed with wear and marks. Frosted bore displaying well-defined rifling. Mechanically fine.
