Lot consists of: (A) World War I 2 - 7/8" Naval Aviator wing marked "ROLLED / GOLD" on reverse. Drop-in locking catch. Wings slightly bent, possibly by officer for fit to uniform. Clasp functions. CONDITION: Good. (B) Circa 1920s-1930s "Lighter than air ship" balloon pilot aviator wing. Die struck and engraved with fine feather detail. Curved wing and shield. Traces of gold gilt on both sides. The date these wings were approved is not clear, however they first appear in uniform regulations approved September 20th 1922. Marked "STERLING" on reverse. Measures 1 - 1/2". Nice patina with traces of gilt. Clasp functions. CONDITION: Good.
