Fine example of a World War I United States Army Air Service (USAAS) pilot’s uniform jacket with nice insignia. The jacket is double patched and features a hand-applied Third Army multipiece patch as well as a multipiece Army Air Service patch on the left shoulder. The left sleeve also features a red discharge chevron as well as 3 wool-backed gold "tape" overseas chevrons denoting 1 - 1/2 years in the theater of operations. Fantastic pair of black wool-backed sterling wings compliments the left breast above the pocket. Nice matched set of USAAS and USNA pinback insignia on the collar with heavy coin silver Captain bars pinned to each epaulette. Captain bars and collar insignia are unmarked. Complete with all original "veggie" buttons. Nice green liner with striped sleeve lining. Original Adler-Rochester tailor label stitched to interior pocket. Accompanied by a pair of high quality officer trousers. The uniform set is very clean overall and presents well. Light wear, but a very nice example of a WWI USAAS uniform. CONDITION: Very good.
