Lot consists of: (A) World War II US Army Air Force Type A-2 flight jacket manufactured by J.A. Dubow. The jacket features colonel insignia on each epaulette, although the eagle is missing from the left shoulder. Right eagle is pinback and marked "STERLING". Left shoulder features Army Air Force decal that is mostly intact. Leather name strip named to "A.J. MICKLE" sewn to the left breast. Large Army Air Force logo stamped on inside of liner below tag. Original tag is in place at collar and nicely intact. Leather is immaculate, cuffs and waistband with small pullies but nicely intact. Scattered scuffs, but leather is as pliable as it was the day the jacket was issued. Lining completely intact. Functioning Talon zipper. CONDITION: Very good. (B) WWII AAF Type A-2 flight jacket manufactured by Cable Raincoat Co., a desirable maker. The jacket exhibits ghosting on epaulettes and left breast with evidence of removed insignia. Named in liner to "LT. E.K. Johnson". A tag affixed to the jacket states that the jacket belonged to Lt. Elmer K. Johnson, a USAAF bombardier who was in the 4th plane over Tokyo in WWII. Inspector stamp visible next to tag. Original tag is in place at collar and nicely intact. Leather remains pliable, cuffs and waistband with small pullies but nicely intact. Scattered blemishes but very clean overall. Lining completely intact. Zipper is marked "KWIK" and is likely a replacement, but functions. CONDITION: Very good.
