An attractive portrait of a Federal Period naval officer whose uniform appears to date from 1815-1840s with a single-breasted coatee, fringed epaulettes, and high collar. Upon close inspection, the buttons reveal vague anchors. The portrait is housed in an attractive gilt frame and was later reframed in wood behind glass. The portrait displays well, with scattered blemishes in the paint. Some gilt loss around the frame, with scattered cracks. Ready to hang. CONDITION: Good.
