Woodsman manufactured by Colt in 1937. The left side of the receiver is stamped "THE WOODSMAN", with the slide being stamped "COLT" followed by the caliber designation as well as the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components are blued, while the frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips. 6 - 1/2" barrel with patridge front sight and adjustable square notch rear sight. Factory stampings have been attractively highlighted with a grease pencil. This example is accompanied by a custom wood display case. CONDITION: Extremely fine, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting few insignificant superficial marks from handling and storage. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well-defined rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some mild smoothing and a few scattered nicks to the diamonds but are otherwise fine. An extremely fine Pre-War Colt Woodsman semi-automatic pistol.
