Manufactured 1970. A modification of the highly venerated 1911A1 design, which eschewed the traditional barrel link and locking lugs in favor of a straight blowback system, these pistols were designed for ISSF centerfire matches where shooting .38 Special wadcutters was the de facto round of choice. Smooth black front and rear Elliason black-on-black sights with a serrated sighting plane, standard slide legends, serrated Gold Cup trigger, slide release, left side only safety, front strap, and arched mainspring housing. Magazine with correct .38 Special marking and configuration. Housed in the Colt Gold Cup National Match box with a warranty card and test target numbered to this gun. CONDITION: Overall excellent, showing some light marks from handling and operation. A few marks have silvered on the right side of the muzzle and on the slide chin. Mechanically fine, the bore is excellent, bright and shiny with sharp lands and grooves. The box is very good, with clear graphics and some age-related distress and peeling, but solid and complete.
