German Mauser sporting rifle made circa 1920 by C. Steigele in Munchen, Germany. Blued tapered "Elektrostahl" 22" barrel with matted sight plane, ramp front sight, and fixed 2 position rear sight, chambered in 7x57 Mauser, and marked "C. STEIGELE K.G.I. BAIR HOFGEWEHRFRABIK MUNCHEN". Line engraved blued action fitted with claw scope mounts, double set triggers, horn triggerguard, lever operated detachable steel floorplate, and spoon handle bolt with 3 position safety and hidden tang peep sight. Checkered walnut sporter stock with European style sling swivels and bullet trap. CONDITION: 90% original blue with edge wear, receiver worn silver along with metal on carry areas. Stock shows usage marks with traces of original varnish and checkering starting to wear flat. Horn trigger guard has a period repair. Good bore with crisp mechanics.
