Standard bright finished 40" rifled .58 caliber bearing "V / P" eagle head proofs over the chamber. Blade front sight and original long range ladder rear sight. "1858" dated Springfield lockplate with Maynard tape primer. Stocked in walnut with brass nose cap and steel mounts including 3 spring retained barrel bands, 2-piece trigger guard, and "US" marked butt plate. Complete with a slightly bent tulip head ramrod. CONDITION: Good. Most iron components exhibit a salt and pepper patina. Hammer, trigger guard, and rear barrel band are chocolate brown. Stock has been lightly cleaned with scattered marks. Very strong bore with a few areas of black powder abrasion. Mechanically fine.
