Boxlock action engraved side by side shotgun made by August Francotte, Liege, Belgium circa 1910. 29 - 1/2" chopper lump Damascus steel 12 gauge barrels with matted concave rib, bead front sight, and gold breech band. 2 - 1/2" chambers with extractors and Full and Full chokes. Case hardened vignette engraved boxlock action with Greener style crossbolt marked "A. FRANCOTTE'S GUNMAKER" on left side, "PATENTED LONDON" on right, tang safety with word "SAFE" in gold, and double trigger control. Checkered dark walnut pistol grip stock with 1" solid hard rubber buttplate with matching full coverage checkered splinter forearm with push button release. CONDITION: Metal has well worn appearance turning a dark brown and silver patina with visible traces of Damascus pattern. Action has turned to a silvery brown. Wood has dark appearance with handling marks and dings. Good bores with good lockup. Would make an excellent restoration project.
