Lot consists of: (A) Post World War II US Marine Corps mameluke sword by NS Meyer in standard configuration named to "Jack G. Downing" on escutcheon on the blade. Jack Downing was born in 1940, graduated college in 1962, served 2 combat tours in Vietnam, discharged from the Marine Corps in 1967, and served in the CIA with many assignments. His extensive history can be found in numerous sources online. The sword is very clean overall with bright blade and unmolested decorations. Guard with mellow patina and intact white grip. Complete with scabbard that exhibits blemishes from wear. CONDITION: Very good. (B) WWII era USMC mameluke sword in standard configuration marked by NS Meyer on the ricasso. The sword is very clean overall with bright blade and unmolested decorations. Guard with mellow patina and intact white grip. Complete with scabbard that exhibits blemishes from wear.
