Received in the warehouse December 12, 1894, and shipped out May 2, 1895. Fit with a blued 26" octagon barrel with 2-line address and full-length magazine tube. Dovetail blade front sight and sporting rear. Polish blued takedown receiver with case-hardened hammer and lever. Plain walnut forend with blued steel nose cap. Figured walnut straight grip stock sporting a solid crescent rifle butt plate. An included copy of a 1991 dated factory letter confirms options. CONDITION: Excellent for its age. Barrel and magazine tube exhibit nearly all of their factory blue with some light toning. Receiver retains bountiful amounts of bright factory blue with some thinning and cleaning marks. Loading gate displays portions of faded nitre blue. Lever and hammer retain significant portions of mellow case colors. Stocks have some scattered impressions, remaining very fine overall. Very fine, bright bore with an area of cleaned black powder oxidation towards the muzzle. Fine mechanics. A very nice takedown '86 in desirable chambering.
