Typical Adams patent hammerless design with bead-on-post front sight dovetailed into octagonal barrel, top strap over cylinder engraved "MANUFed BY ANCION & Cie" for Jacques Ancion and Cie, and integral rear sight. Light floral engraving on high polish blued frame and trigger guard. Frame with Adam's patent number, which matches the cylinder. Grip with a high spur, checkered about the wrist and capped by a horn grip cap. Housed in a period wooden case with a vacant slot for an escutcheon in lid, lined in a faded wine-colored cloth, and French fitted for pistol, a tin of percussion caps, a copper powder flask, a bullet mold with sprue cutter and matching serial number, and nipple wrench. Vacant slots for a loading rod and what looks like a turnscrew. CONDITION: Cylinder has been polished and is now in the white with some areas cleaned and pitting throughout. Frame and barrel with approximately 30% of the high polish bluing mixed with areas of oxidation and dove grey throughout. Grip is very good, with some handling marks throughout. The case has areas of damage to varnish, possibly heat related. Accessories are good with some age-related browning visible and nipple wrench with a crack at the head and along haft. Mechanics are sticky but functional, bore with strong rifling and oxidation.
