Beautifully made 19th-century French style ring pistol, produced during the 20th century. The German silver ring band is engraved with an acanthus wreath pattern, with "THE FIVE ACES" on underside. Steel components, including the spring, cylinder, hammer, and trigger, exhibit a deep lustrous nitre blued finish. Ring is reloaded via removal of the cylinder, which is retained by a single central screw. This example is accompanied by a blue leatherette case featuring a blue velvet lining and containing a spare cylinder, 3 rounds of ammunition, as well as a screwdriver. CONDITION: Excellent, with steel components retaining nearly all of their nitre blued finish, exhibiting some mild and a light dragline along the cylinder. Ring band retains nearly all of its original polished finish. Case exhibits some exterior wear, with the interior exhibiting some mild staining on the lid. An extremely attractive and desirable example of a unique ring pistol design.
